Hornsby Lions endeavours to be a family friendly club, valuing friendship, teamwork, respect and community engagement – from our players, volunteers and parents.
Hornsby Lions provides competitive and social netball opportunities for all members who want to play, umpire or coach, and welcome all ages and levels of experience and ability.
Our Club is run solely by volunteers who are active and engaged members in our organisation, and we are grateful and thankful for their outstanding contributions to support of all members and actively promote the game netball. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do, or even exist!
Our Club
Our History
Our Club started in the early 2000's with just 3 Senior teams. A group of netball enthusiasts sought to create a family orientated, friendship building and inclusive Club. It wasn't long before the addition of Junior teams saw the Club grow.
Over the years the Club has welcomed players of all levels. Many play for the social interaction however we have had those whose skills and abilities have seen them move to a more competitive level, playing with the states most elite players.
Over the past years we have entered teams across all levels of competition, from our youngest in NetSetGo through our Junior teams to our Seniors. We maintain a competitive level with the majority of our teams making it through to the Finals Series at the conclusion of conclusion of each Winter season. The Club also submits both ladies and mixed teams to HDNA's Spring and Summer competitions.
Each year we seek to run the Net program, the introduction to Netball from the NetSetGO. This is a six week program run in Term 1 for girls and boys aged 6 to 9 years old. It is held in the local area.
We look forward to having you with us on your netball journey!
